Custer Christian School is a non-denominational Christian Preschool through 6th grade based in Broken Bow NE. CCS is dedicated to providing the youth of Custer County and surrounding counties with a balanced curriculum that will not only stimulate growth in academics but also in Christ-centered values.
Student life consists of a supportive environment where students grow in their walk with the Lord assisting the family and the church, (Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it”), as well as challenging students to excel in English, Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Music, Art, and Physical Education.
The core values of Custer Christian School are rooted in a belief in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” and will be the driving force behind Custer Christian School.
At Custer Christian School, we use BJU Press for the majority of our core curriculum. BJU is a nationally respected Christian publisher known for combining rigorous academics with a biblical worldview. Each subject—whether math, science, English, or social studies—is thoughtfully designed to challenge students academically while grounding them in truth. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, character development, and the integration of faith into all areas of learning. Rather than separating biblical principles from academic subjects, BJU teaches students to recognize God’s design, purpose, and order in everything they study—from the logic in math to the wonder of creation in science.
In addition to our core curriculum, CCS students participate in a dedicated Bible class each day using resources from Summit Ministries, a trusted name in Christian worldview education. These lessons guide students through Scripture, teach them how to defend their faith, and encourage spiritual growth through age-appropriate discussions and applications. Bible class is more than just a subject—it is the heart of our school culture, where students are grounded in God’s Word and encouraged to live out their faith daily in both word and action.
Enrollment for Custer Christian School opens each year on January 15 and remains open through April—or until class capacity is reached, whichever comes first. Families are encouraged to apply early, as space is limited and spots fill quickly. Our admissions process is designed to ensure a strong fit between the school, the student, and the family, as we prayerfully build each year’s class. As always, if you have any questions about CCS or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office at 308-767-2096.
At Custer Christian School, we believe that every child should have access to a Christ-centered education, regardless of financial circumstances. Scholarships may be awarded at any point during the year, depending on availability of funds and family needs. If your family is experiencing financial hardship or would benefit from assistance, we encourage you to fill out our scholarship application. Each request is prayerfully considered with compassion and discretion.
